The California Highway Patrol (CHP) took enforcement action after discovering multiple violations involving a tow truck operating in the Golden Gate area.
According to an August 10 social media post by the CHP’s Golden Gate Division, a tow truck that was in violation of regulations was detected during a recent inspection.
The tow truck was overloaded, lacked valid insurance, and had “an operating permit that had been suspended for several years,” the CHP stated.
The tow truck was impounded due to the violations.
“Commercial vehicle regulations exist to ensure that companies and drivers operate safely and responsibly. Our Commercial Operations Unit remains committed to identifying unsafe and non-compliant commercial vehicles and holding operators accountable for the safety of all road users,” the officers stated.
