Four tractor-trailers were involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 65 in Tennessee on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at 2:24 p.m. near mile marker 50 on I-65 in Maury County, Tennessee. The identity of the deceased driver was released on Wednesday, August 19.
According to News Channel 5, James Ebbinger, a 59-year-old truck driver, was traveling northbound on I-65 when he crossed the median and collided with three other tractor-trailers traveling southbound. All four trucks caught fire as a result of the accident.
Ebbinger, a native of Texas, died in the accident. Darwin Barthelemy, 48, from Minnesota, and Nichoy Tracy, 36, from Florida, were injured in the crash. A 63-year-old driver from Alabama escaped unharmed.
No information has been provided regarding the severity of the drivers’ injuries or the exact cause of the accident. No charges have been filed.
