Estes Express Lines says it expects to improve efficiency and reduce disruptions in the Kentucky and Indiana region after moving to a terminal with nearly twice as many doors.
Estes Express Lines recently moved from its 46-door terminal in Louisville, Kentucky, to a new 82-door service center in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
According to WAVE, the move will help the company nearly double the volume of orders it can handle and make the truck yard safer by providing more space to move cargo. The larger facility will also allow Estes to add more tractor-trailer combinations and create jobs in southern Indiana.
“The more capacity we have, the more freight we can bring here—by rerouting to maximize our network—and the more people we can hire,” said Greg Richardson of Estes Express Lines. “And that’s precisely our goal: to provide high-quality jobs to outstanding people.”
Estes Express believes the new location will provide its fleet with better access to metropolitan areas in the Kentucky and Indiana regions.
