Texas Trooper Nearly Buried by Caliche During Dump Truck Inspection

    Published:

A Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) trooper had a narrow escape while inspecting a loaded dump truck.

Authorities reported that a TXDPS officer from the South Texas Region was inspecting a dump truck loaded with caliche, a type of hard soil or sediment.

When the officer finished the inspection and crawled out from under the dump truck, “the rear gate opened unexpectedly, causing the caliche to spill out and nearly bury him.”
