Dump truck speeding on restricted California route found illegal and overweight

Published:

California Highway Patrol officers uncovered a long list of violations after pulling over a dump truck for speeding on a weight-restricted road in Oakland.

The CHP’s Golden Gate Division stated that a commercial vehicle was recently pulled over for speeding on a stretch of I-580 in Oakland.

Officers noted that the section of I-580 between Grand Avenue in Oakland and Foothill Boulevard in San Leandro has weight restrictions for trucks over 9,000 pounds.

An inspection revealed that the truck “exceeded the maximum allowable weight, was unregistered, uninsured, and was operating without the proper authorization,” according to the CHP.

“These violations pose a safety risk to all road users. We remind all commercial operators: know your route, know the requirements, and comply with the regulations!” advised the state police.
