Mississippi authorities charged a man who got stuck after attempting to illegally move a manufactured home.
Officials say that on August 27, 2026, Stephen Goodlow attempted to move a manufactured home on a public highway in Scott County, Mississippi.
Goodlow did not have the required license for the move, according to the Mississippi Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The manufactured home became stuck on the roadway and was “also damaged significantly during the incident and ultimately had to be demolished before it could be removed from the roadway.”

Goodlow was cited by the Fire Marshal for illegally moving a manufactured home.
Goodlow was additionally charged by the Mississippi Highway Patrol for operating without a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and operating without insurance.

“The State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) is reminding residents that manufactured homes must be moved by properly licensed movers, in compliance with state law,” officials said. “SFMO hopes this incident reminds people that manufactured homes must be transported by properly licensed movers and in compliance with all applicable permitting, licensing, insurance, and highway-safety requirements.”
