The Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division discovered more than 9,000 violations this past month as compared to just over eight and half the month prior, a recently released report shows.
The ISP CVED enforced federal and state regulations on all commercial motor vehicles through Safety Inspections, New Entrant Safety Audits, and Compliance Reviews. The team also ensures compliance with equipment, hours of service, and size and weight laws.
The most recent month of inspections was between July 15th and August 15th, 2026. The unit completed a total of 4,770 inspections with 9,455 violations discovered. The month prior – June 15th through July 15th – 4,703 inspections were completed and 8,650 violations were discovered.
The 4,770 inspections this month led to 608 drivers and 655 CMVs placed OOS. Additionally, 452 oversize violations were discovered, and 234 overweight violations were found. 242 failure to obey traffic control device violations were also issued.
