Texas police took enforcement action against a commercial vehicle and driver after finding several violations during a traffic stop in Krugerville.
A Krugerville Police Department (KVPD) officer recently initiated a traffic stop on a dump truck, police said in a September 14 release.
During the traffic stop, the officer learned that the dump truck was improperly registered as a passenger vehicle even though it was in use in a commercial capacity.
Police also said that the dump truck was not registered appropriately for its weight or the cargo it was transporting.
“Further inspection revealed that the truck met the criteria of a commercial motor vehicle but lacked many of the requirements for it to be used as such. The driver was also found to be unlicensed, not lacking a CMV license, not licensed at all,” KVPD said.
Police cited the truck driver for several violations and impounded the dump truck.
“KVPD remains committed to ensuring roadway safety and enforcing regulations designed to protect the public and maintain safe commercial transportation practices within our community,” the agency said.
