Werner Enterprises has announced that it will double its capacity in Mexico due to the steady demand seen over the past 12 months.
Werner currently has 400 containers deployed in Mexico and plans to expand its intermodal presence by doubling that capacity with an additional 400 units expected to be deployed in Mexico throughout 2026.
“We want Mexican companies to know that there is a local solution, based on our own assets, available to them,” said Bernardo Alexander, Werner’s vice president of sales for Mexico, in a press release. “Thanks to our long and solid track record in Mexico since 1999, we have the necessary experience to simplify cross-border transportation. By combining our advanced tracking technology with a bilingual support service available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, we are eliminating the hurdles of cross-border trade and making the process more efficient than ever.”
The rollout will initially focus on Monterrey and Silao, and will expand to Mexico City in the second half of 2026. The company notes that demand for intermodal transportation in Mexico has remained stable over the past 12 months, and that Werner plans to capitalize on the opportunity to expand.
Werner has been operating in Mexico since 1999.
