The California Highway Patrol (CHP) issued a reminder about the dangers of driving a commercial vehicle while intoxicated after a truck driver’s recent arrest.
On September 18, 2026, a CHP trooper arrested a semi truck driver in Monterey County for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
Images shared by CHP show boxes and cans of Coors beer inside the cab of the truck.

Troopers also shared images of the semi truck being towed away from the scene.
CHP used the incident as a reminder to the trucking community to refrain from drinking behind the wheel.
“Driving under the influence is dangerous in any vehicle, but when you’re behind the wheel of a big rig weighing thousands of pounds, the risks are even greater. A moment of impaired judgment can have devastating consequences for everyone sharing the road. Don’t drive impaired. Make the right choice before you get behind the wheel,” CHP’s Monterey Division said.
