One driver has been arrested after a pair of men posed as FedEx drivers and used fake documentation to steal a load of electronics worth more than half a million dollars.
The theft occurred on Monday, September 14th at a warehouse in New Castle, Delaware around 9:15 a.m. Police were contacted the following morning.
According to NBC Philadelphia, two men in a tractor trailer arrived at Emolo Consumer Electronics on River Road and told warehouse employees that they were drivers for FedEx. The two men presented fraudulent CDLs and fraudulent shipping documents, which they used to obtain a loaded trailer. The two men hooked up their rig to the trailer and drove away.
Later that day, the shipper determined that the shipping documents provided by the alleged FedEx drivers were fraudulent. A short time later, the shipper located the tractor trailer in Newark, Delaware at University Plaza, and called 911.
Police arrived at the scene and located one of the men, 35-year-old Dushatdaman Parihar. Troopers spoke with Parihar and determined that his CDL and the license plate on his tractor trailer were fraudulent.
Parihar was arrested and charged with theft of $100,000 or more, forgery, conspiracy and displaying a fictitious registration plate. Police have not identified or located the second man involved in the theft.
