Thirteen people were arrested on Tuesday after police caught them unloading $250,000 worth of stolen chicken from a semi truck parked behind a motel.
The incident happened on September 15th in Memphis, Tennessee in the back parking lot of an Economy Inn.
According to WOWT6, police went to the motel only to execute a warrant for 33-year-old Javunte Johnson for aggravated robbery, but found the baker’s dozen of criminals unloading a semi truck in the back parking lot.
All 13 people fled the scene when the police arrived, but all 13 were eventually caught and taken into custody. Police determined that the pallets of chicken were all stolen, and worth about $250,000.
Police also uncovered approximately $110,000 worth of other stolen merchandise, three firearms, and drugs including fentanyl and cocaine.
