An Ohio man was sentenced to decades in prison for the murder of a tanker truck driver in 2025.
On September 23, 2026, Mickey Green, 63, was issued a sentence of 24 years to life in prison in the death of truck driver Steven Andrews, 50, according to Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson.
On September 3, 2026, Green was convicted on two counts of murder and one count each of felonious assault and discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises, following a three-day jury trial.
Charges stem from an April 5, 2025, shooting incident that took place in Franklin Township, Ohio.
Andrews was operating a tanker truck at intersection of Norris Road and Moravian Trail Road when Green yelled at him for driving on the edge of Green’s lawn.
“Andrews stopped the truck, got out and walked toward Green. As Andrews approached him, Green drew a handgun and shot Andrews in the head. Andrews was unarmed,” Wilson said.
Andrews was transported to a hospital for treatment but ultimately passed away.
During his trial, Green argued that the shooting was an act of self-defense.
“This was a senseless crime that warrants today’s sentence of time behind bars,” Wilson said. “Thank you to the law enforcement and legal teams who secured justice for the victim and his loved ones.”
The case was investigated by the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
