Several Texas law enforcement agencies have joined forces to apprehend a suspect accused of stealing hundreds of gallons of diesel from local businesses in Jack County
The Jack County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) recently partnered with the Jacksboro Police Department (JPD) to investigate the theft of approximately 900 gallons of diesel fuel from a local business and two independent gas stations.
Once investigators identified a suspect, a warrant was obtained authorizing the placement of a tracking device on the suspect’s vehicle.
“Investigators from the Jack County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksboro Police Department traveled to Fort Worth as part of a joint operation to locate the vehicle and install the tracking device. Before that could happen, Fort Worth Police officers located the suspect with another load of diesel fuel and arrested him,” the JCSO reported.
Investigators from the Jack County Sheriff’s Office and the Jacksboro Police Department obtained a confession from the suspect regarding the diesel thefts in Jack County.
Police stated that more information about the suspect would be released once “the appropriate warrant has been received and executed.”
“This is what happens when law enforcement agencies collaborate and assist one another: the community benefits and criminals go to jail,” the JCSO stated.
