The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) discovered multiple safety violations on a commercial vehicle that was “riding on the rims.”
Tennessee troopers took to social media on September 15 to highlight a recent commercial vehicle inspection that uncovered serious violations.
“A recent commercial motor vehicle inspection conducted by a member of the THP Motor Carrier Plus unit resulted in a vehicle being stopped for multiple severely damaged tires. A couple of tires on the same axle were blown, shredded, and being operated while riding on the rims, creating an extremely dangerous situation for the driver and everyone sharing the roadway, THP said.
In addition to the tire issues, the inspection also revealed hours-of-service and logbook violations, “adding another serious safety concern.”
